What is dioxygen chloride?Dioxygen Chloride [O2Cl] (traditionally known as Chlorine Dioxide [ClO2]) is a yellowish gas that was synthesized in the United States in the early 19th century.
This chemical compound is formed by the union of two oxygen molecules and one chlorine molecule, and is presented as an aqueous solution, thanks to its high degree of solubility in water, until a concentration of 1% is reached, at which point the solution becomes saturated.
Clodos Technology products, thanks to an internationally unique patented formulation, maintain the dioxygen chloride molecule as a gas dissolved in water in a stable, pure and highly concentrated formulation. This avoids the decomposition of the molecule into free chlorine, guaranteeing the non-generation of polluting by-products such as Chloramines, Haloacetic Acids, or Trihalomethanes.
The molecule is a paramagnetic radical, which makes it one of the most powerful disinfectant active ingredients currently available (8 times more powerful than chlorine and 3 times more powerful than ozone), being effective in the control of viruses, bacteria, fungi, molds, spores, biofilm, in addition to its ovicidal and larvicidal capacity.
Although this active material has not become popular in Spain, in other countries such as the USA, Germany or Italy it is commonly used for the disinfection treatment of water for human consumption and in wastewater treatment processes, by means of traditional generation technologies.
The success of the product is based on the fact that, when applied, it alters cellular development, breaking the Krebs Cycle (or citric acid cycle), and eliminates pathogenic microorganisms, without affecting living organisms or tissues.
